Dr. Johnson has lived in Phoenix, Arizona since 1982 and knew that she wanted to be in veterinary medicine from an early age. She began by volunteering at a small animal hospital, then became a veterinary technician. She graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelor of Science degree from Grand Canyon University in 1995, then received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Colorado State University in 1999. After practicing her first year in Lake Havasu City, she moved back the valley. She joined Sun City Animal Hospital in 2004 and has been the Managing Veterinarian for the past seven years. Dr. Johnson’s professional interests include internal medicine, laser surgery, soft tissue surgery, and advanced dentistry. She loves to build relationships with her clients and provide whole life care for every pet.
When away from the clinic, Dr. Johnson is busy tending her and her husband’s cattle ranch with their three daughters. They have five dogs, Willie, Jethro, Myth, Lucy, and Sawyer and two cats, Jack and Diane. Their ranch also includes their horses Brego, Jade, Qupie, Spur, Lulu and Skeeter. They also raise Boer and LaMancha goats, pigs and a plethora of birds, including chickens, turkeys, ducks and peacocks.
